WOMEN'S BALL HOCKEY
Our staff are heavily involved with women's ball hockey. Carol and Dominique play in the league and Claude coaches the Play It Again Sports team which won the league championship in 2006.
As well as playing in the league, Dominique is a member of the executive. And the league registration is held at our store each spring.
We also give all players a league discount and donate prizes for the annual year-end banquet.
COACHING YOUNG PLAYERS
Our store manager Dominique Laroche played for several years in the National Women's Hockey league and is one of the best female athletes in the
Cornwall area.
Dominique runs a skills development program for young girls each Tuesday during winter months and is an assistant coach with the Cornwall Typhoons Midget B team.
And she still plays hockey at the senior level with the Cornwall Fastbreakers where she is team captain.
SPECIAL NIGHTS FOR SPECIAL TEAMS
This year, we held a lacrosse night and offered deep discounts and gave prizes for lacrosse players in our region. Special guests that night were players and coaches from the Cornwall Celtics Jr. B team.
There were also sales representatives on hand from Warrior and STX lacrosse.
We also hold the registration for the Cornwall Women's Ball Hockey League.
And in August, we held our Annual Nike/Bauer Day with special guest Chad Kilger of the Toronto Maple Leafs. We had a no tax weekend with other great deals and awesome prizes and will be doing it again this year.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY IN LONG SAULT
Co-owner Carol co-organizes and plays in a women's hockey program at the Long Sault arena.
A group of 25 or more women play Monday nights from 10 to 11 p.m. for a game of pick up hockey. The successful program has been running for several years and continues to grow.
